Honduras Mission Trip

A mission team from Good Shepherd to Honduras is now in formation. If you have a heart for adventure, a passion for serving Christ among the poorest of his people, and want to be challenged spiritually, join us. Our team will fly from Atlanta to Tegucigalpa, Honduras on Saturday, February 9 and will return to Atlanta on Saturday, February 16. Security and our safety is a top priority and so we will be met at the airport by Amanda Scott, volunteer-coordinator at the LAMB Institute - Honduras. As before, we will be staying at Casa Lamb, the guesthouse which in a very safe neighborhood. This is a comfortable home with internet and laundry service. The food is wonderful and the water is safe to drink. We travel each day in transportation provided by LAMB and driven by LAMB staff. Most of our work will be some kind of construction at the children’s home with other opportunities available to those with other interests and abilities. At the end of each work day, we have time to play with the children. Midweek, we take a break from our work to visit the school, to visit of clients of the micro-loan program and leaders of the anti-gang initiative, and for a day trip to an artist community outside the city. The week goes by fast and before you know it, it is time to go home. Hopefully different. Hopefully with some new enduring friendships with our Honduran brothers and sisters, because that is what this is all about. All those interested in going should contact Fr. Bill as soon as possible. If you cannot go, but would like to support those who are going with a financial gift, please make your check out to Good Shepherd and note Honduras Mission in the memo. We also invite all to two Honduras Mission Trip fund raiser lunches with a simple fare of beans, rice, and tortillas, following the 10:45 service on June 24 and August 12. Grace and peace be yours, and thank you for your support. Fr. Bill+
