Book Signing and Lunch Planned at Good Shepherd
Good Shepherd Episcopal Church Hayesville invites all the community to a book signing with author Ann Miller Woodford on Saturday, February 13 at 10:00 a.m. After the book signing in the Parish Hall, a light lunch will be served.
Ms. Woodford, an author and artist from Andrews, NC, has titled her new book “When All God's Children Get Together: A Celebration of the Lives and Music of African American People in Far Western North Carolina.” She writes about people who helped to build the communities of Far Western North Carolina from Waynesville, Canton, and Murphy. Although they were largely invisible people, the author does not want them to be forgotten. The goal of her work has always been to tear down the barriers that separate people by age, race, or religion.
Signed copies of Ms. Woodford's book will be available for purchase. Please call Teresa Gribble at 828-389-3767, or email her at dtgribble@gmail.com, so that she can plan for lunch.
Good Shepherd is located at 495 Herbert Hills Road, just off Hwy. 64E about a mile from Walgreens. Besides the book signing, the church's many other activities are described on the website: www.goodshepherdhayesville.org.
