Good Shepherd Invites Golfers to Outing

All area golfers are cordially invited to join the golfers of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church Hayesville in our 3rd annual golf outing, at noon on October 22 at the Ridges Golf Club. Chairmen Jim Redmond and Kanute Rarey are getting excited because they remember what a great time everyone had in previous years. Golfers of all levels, both men and women, are welcome for fun, fellowship, food, and prizes.

To kick off the afternoon, a putting contest and hotdog lunch will be held during registration, which starts at 11:00 a.m. There will be complimentary practice balls, driving range, chipping and putting greens. At 12:00, a shotgun start will launch the 18-hole best ball scramble. Prizes will be awarded for the longest drive for men, longest drive for women, closet to the pin (both men and women), and first and second places for lowest gross score. At the end of the day, golfers and their guests will enjoy a cocktail hour with cash bar at 5:00 and dinner at 6:00 at the Ridges.

The price for the occasion is $100 per golfer, which includes 18 holes of golf with cart and dinner. Sponsorships are also available for $100; sponsors will get their names on tee boxes, plus recognition at lunch and dinner. Those who don't play golf but want to enjoy the festivities may purchase a dinner only ticket for $30.00.

The deadline for playing in the event or for sponsoring it is October 10. Contacts are Jim Redmond at 248-425-0307 or drjor@frontier.com; or Kanute Rarey at 502-525-7272 or kprarey@yahoo.com.
