Spring Grounds Clean Up Day

  • Good Shepherd Episcopal Church 495 Herbert Hills Dr Hayesville, NC, 28904 United States (map)

Time to wake up the Church Gardens and get them ready for Easter! We walked the gardens this week and found there was little damage from the winter weather, which is wonderful. Spring Grounds Clean Up Day is scheduled for March 28 starting at 9:00 am. This is a call for all hands on deck that love to garden with flowers, lay pebble paths, plant blueberry bushes, and spread mulch.

We have a lot on the schedule and with many hands will be able to finish everything in one day. We need help with the usual clean up items in the various garden areas, including the Memorial Gardens. Plus, this year we also need a lot of help in planting the blueberry bushes that have been purchased with your donations to the blueberry project. We anticipate digging the holes for those with an auger, but still need lots of folks to get them in the holes and the plants mulched. We will also belaying the pebble path in the Celtic Garden. There will be jobs for all skill, physical ability levels and interests. Please bring  your own garden tools and gloves to protect your hands.

The church will be providing a light lunch afterwards and bottled water  for the workers. If you know you are coming, please let Elizabeth Rybicki know, so she can start planning some worker teams.
