One of the things that was requested following the Good Shepherd Women’s Retreat at Lake Logan last May was the opportunity to do intentional reflection and sharing in a shorter time span, closer to home. We have an opportunity for that on Saturday, October 28th . We will gather in the parish library at 10:00 in the morning.
We will be considering the story of Sarah’s Laugh (Genesis 18:1-15 and Genesis 21:1-7). I believe that this part of the Abraham saga has much to offer us as women, as older women, as mothers, as servants of God who seek to understand God’s will for us, and as individuals who seek to do what we perceive God’s will for us to be.
This event is open to all the women of Good Shepherd and any girlfriends they may choose to invite, whether or not you attended the May retreat. This is an event for which 1) there is no sign-up, 2) you do not have to bring food, and 3) no preparation is required; materials provided. The event will conclude at noon, as we celebrate the Eucharist around the table where we will have been reflecting and sharing.
Feel free to bring your morning beverage-of-choice, in an opaque travel mug. It could contain a triple-shot Caramel Macchiato Latte or a Bloody Mary, or anything in between. Beverages will enter on a don’t ask, don’t tell basis. I am looking forward to this gathering of sisters in the faith.
I hope you will want to be part of the event. Bev+
