All area golfers are cordially invited to join the golfers of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church Hayesville in our 2nd annual benefit outing, at 12:30 on September 26 at the Ridges Golf Club. Chairmen Jim Redmond and Kanute Rarey are getting excited because they remember what a great time everyone had last year. Golfers of all levels, both men and women, are welcome for fun, fellowship, food, and fund-raising.
Good Shepherd Scholarship Honors Our Educators
When recently retired educators Turner Guidry and Georgia Bethel attended the annual Founder's Day dinner at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church on August 22, the couple did not know they would receive special recognition for their years of service. Parishioners at the church presented them with a generous check that will be used to establish a college scholarship fund for meritorious students in this area.
The Country Fare is Coming
Mark your calendars now for the big shopping event of the fall: the Country Fare flea market at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church Hayesville, slated for September 11 and 12. Hours are eight until two on Friday the 11th and again on Saturday the 12th. On Saturday items will be discounted periodically through “blue light specials."
Wellness Seminar Assesses Good Fats
For years health-conscious people tried to avoid as much fat as possible, but today's nutritionists tell us that certain fats are actually beneficial. When Good Shepherd Episcopal Church presents its last Wellness Seminar on Saturday August 15 from 10 until 12, Sharon O'Dell, RN, will explain which fats are really good for us and how much our diets should include. Everyone is encouraged to attend the free workshop.
