Good Shepherd Episcopal Church Hayesville has hired a highly qualified nursery attendant and is expanding its nursery care. Cheryl Notchie will work in the nursery from 7:30 until 12:30 every Sunday, so that young families with children can attend either the 8:00 or the 10:45 service, knowing that their children will be cared for in a safe, happy environment. All children from infancy to age five are welcome.
Cheryl Notchie was brought up and married in the Roman Catholic Church, but since moving to Hayesville about three years ago, she, her husband John, and son Johnathan, 14, have been considering attending Good Shepherd. When the nursery position came up, she saw it as a golden opportunity.
With her background as a certified teacher's assistant in Broward County, Florida, working with pre-school children with special needs, Cheryl is well qualified. She has taught skills such as eating independently, using pencils, and potty training. While she works in the nursery in tandem with a Good Shepherd volunteer. she plans to play CDs of the children's favorite music and to tell Bible stories with illustrations. She says enthusiastically, “I'm really looking forward to working with the little kids. I just love them.”
Newcomers to the area or those looking for a church home are invited to come and see what Good Shepherd has to offer. The church is located at 495 Herbert Hills Drive, just off Hwy. 64 East about a mile from Walgreens.
