The Hayesville community welcomes internationally known speaker The Rev. Dr. Russ Parker, who will be teaching on The Power of Blessing at Good Shepherd Episcopal Church on Saturday October 18. Be blessed and empowered through this rare opportunity with a gifted teacher and healer.
Russ Parker had a wide-ranging ministry in both the Baptist and Anglican churches in England, worked in pastoral counseling, and was director of The Acorn Christian Healing Foundation. He is now their International Ambassador, responsible for developing partnerships on listening and reconciliation in twelve nations.
Dr. Parker has written a number of books, including Forgiveness is Healing, The Wild Spirit, Visions in the Night, Healing Wounded History, and Wild Spirit of the Living God, an anthology of prayer poems. His latest book is Rediscovering the Ministry of Blessing.
Dr. Parker will speak at four sessions on Saturday 9a.m.-4p.m. and 7p.m., and at both worship services on Sunday. Advance registration for the Saturday daytime sessions is $20, including lunch. The afternoon concludes with a Generational Healing Eucharist to celebrate the blessings inherited from your family as well as to break generational diseases or dysfunction.
The community is cordially invited to the special session Wrestling with Blessing at 7p.m., with praise music by the Andrew Brown Band, and nursery care available. Experienced prayer teams will be on hand following the afternoon and evening sessions for those wishing additional prayer.
